MINISTER NDALICHAKO COMPLIMENTS INVESTORS FOR PROVIDING EMPLOYMENTS TO TANZANIANS

Minister of State, Prime Minister's Office (Labour, Youth, Employment & Persons with Disability) Prof. Joyce Ndalichako has congratulated industrialists in Pwani and Dar es salaam for providing employments to thousands of Tanzanians through production of goods which is sold within and outside the country.

Minister Ndalichako made a compliment when she was finalizing a two days visit to workplaces in Dar es salaam and Pwani regions where she has visited six industries and workplaces which manufactures different goods including packages, pipes, drinks, sanitary pads, households appliances and meat.

Areas visited by Minister Ndalichako are Lake Oil group, Tanzania Ruidar Co. Ltd in Kigamboni and Tanchoice Limited, U-fresh Food Limited, Keds Tanzania Ltd and Global Packaging Limited.

On the visit, Minister Ndalichako accompanied by Kigamboni District Commissioner, Fatma Almasi Nyangasa, Kibaha District Commissioner, Sara Msafiri, OSHA Chief Executive, Khadija Mwenda, Labour Commissioner, Suzan Mkangwa and other heads of institutions under the Prime Minister’s Office Labour, Youth, Employment and Persons with Disability as well as other servants from Kibaha and Kigamboni District.

“I finalized to visit workplaces in Dar es salaam and Pwani and the aim was to make a follow up on the implementation of different labour laws including to see the employment provided by our investors. The interesting thing in all six workplaces that I have visited is that I have seen more than 3000 employments produced,” said Minister Ndalichako.

Apart from the compliments she made to investors, Minister Ndalichako clarified that on her visit she has seen some challenges which includes some employers were not providing employment contract to their workers, minimal submission of contribution to the respective funds, as well as some areas lacked good occupational safety and health systems.
