PARLIAMENT COMMETTEE INSPECTS OSHA BUILDING.

The Constitution and Legal Affairs Committee of the Parliament inspected new building office of Occupational Safety and Health Authority (OSHA) in Dodoma where they stated to be satisfied for the standards of the building

The inspection of that building was preceded by a short meeting where the committee members received a short presentation on the construction of that building presented by the management of OSHA, according to the information presented, that building of 5 floors costed the amount of Tsh4.8 billion which is less compared to the preliminary estimation of Tsh6.56 billion including tax.

“The project carried out within eight months (8) from August 22,2020 to April 21,2021, this success was due to good supervisions from OSHA as the client and efforts made by constructor (ESTIM) and construction advisor (ABECC), in this project we succeed to save more than Tsh 650 million”, said OSHA Chief Executive, Khadija Mwenda

Furthermore, Khadija Mwenda added by saying even though this building has completed within few months and by less amount of money, also this project was implemented by adhering all construction rules and regulations, due quality standards, safety and it has considered special needs groups 

After visiting different areas of the building, members of the committee they said, they have pleased to see this project implemented by following all construction rules and regulations and due quality standards

“We have inspected a lot of buildings as the committee but for the first time I can say we inspected the building that not only satisfied all committee members but also, we have not seen any mistakes, therefore, I congratulates OSHA Chief Executive, Khadija Mwenda and her whole management team, Prime Minister, Kassim Majaliwa  and Minister of State, Prime Minister's Office (Policy, Coordination, Parliamentary Affairs, Labour, Employment, Youth and the Disabled), Jenista Mhagama for their great efforts to oversight different institution under the Prime Minister’s office including OSHA”. Said Emmanuel Mwakasaka, Member of the Constitution and Legal Affairs Committee.

Another member of the committee, Ng’wasi Kamani said “one of their responsibilities is to administer all institutions that is under the Prime Minister’s Office including OSHA thus why, today we have visited this building and we expected it could cost a lot of money due to the short time of its construction but we are so happy to know that the whole construction it costed less amount money on the preliminary estimated budget and it has the due quality standards”.

On the side of the Prime Minister's Office (Policy, Coordination, Parliamentary Affairs, Labour, Employment, Youth and the Disabled), in which OSHA is under this office through the deputy minister PMO (People with Disability), Ummy Nderiyananga, she said “the prime minister’s office is well pleased with the success of this project including the building to be constructed with due quality standards and less amount of money which also we saved more than Tsh 650 million” 

The building was constructed by ESTIM Construction Co. Ltd under Ardhi university (ABECC) as the construction advisor and the project was carried out within eight months, the whole period of construction provided 680 employments including people with disability and it expecting to provide more than 1500 employment when started in use.
